Shutting down the way through the woods was a great favourite few lines of mine in convent school in Ireland where I recited
Wordsworth Daffodils poem and of course The Way Through the Woods together with speeches from my favourite plays of Shakespeare .. Julius Caesar and The Merchant of Venice. The year before was 1955 and I had just been voted in No 1 writer of the Year 1955 for my short stories so I was bent on a career in Literture and Language. Little did I know that my lifetime's work would be Banking Diplomatic Service and Computing and that the 25 years in teaching would be dealing with those 3 categories ......
Literature does appear but more as a postcript in my work .
So a few lines of one of my employing countries who got me back so to speak with Book in Hand to teach TEFL Literature for 10 years .. Turkey and the
National Anthem words are as follows: .
Fear not and be not dismayed
This crimson flag will never fade
It is the last hearth
That is burning for my nation
And we know for sure that it will never fail
These words from the National Anthem of Turkey courtesy of Guardian co. uk; hard work pays up!
