2011 Laptop Guide, 2012 Buying Guide for Laptop

At December 29, 2011, what is one of the best Laptops?
First point to consider is what type of processor or CPU you like to have, there are two brands of CPU that dominate the market right now and they are Intel and AMD, generally the Intel CPU is faster than AMD equivalent and Intel consider as the leader. Currently the high ends CPUs are Intel Core i7, Intel Core i5, Intel Core i3, and AMD Phenom II X6, Phenom II X4, Phenom II X3 & X2.
For Laptop Memory try to choose a laptop with at least 4GB RAM.
Look for a laptop with a dedicated Graphic card, which means it, is not integrated with motherboard and with at least 500MB Graphic Card Memory by itself. Two of the best are NVIDIA GeForce 410M GPU (Keep in mind that Nvidia 500 series faster than 400 series so higher number is faster) or AMD Radeon HD 6470M (AMD Radeon 6000 series is faster than 5000 series).
Then look for a Hard Disk with at least 300GB space and 5400rpm or 7200rpm (The platters in Hard Disk are spun at speeds varying from 4200 rpm to 15,000, the first hard drives spun at 1200 rpm).
Today’s best laptops display is not LCD any more, choose from one of these types TFT LCD, LED, OLED (OLED came to market in 2010 and seen on Samsung and Sony Laptops so far, excellent display quality and very expensive).
For Optical Drive a DVD+/-RW drive is sufficient but probably Blu-ray-reader/DVD-and-CD-burner combo is the best.
As Network port the Built-in 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet port is the standard non-wireless way to connect to DSL modem, cable modem or any other common network and Built-in 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth is for wireless connection.
Finally try to find a laptop that has as many as following expansion ports, 3 USB 2.0 slots, 1 USB 3.0, FireWire (1394a), Thunderbolt (if applicable), HDMI, Display Port, Ethernet, Card reader with SD slot, E-SATA, two headphone jacks, microphone jack, and cable lock slot.
