Talking
Shop or Shop Talk used to cause a ban in my household as everytime I got my feet under the table an old lady from Ireland would say "Ah to be
sure to be sure dont talk shop on your birthday, leave it for tomorrow! .. but what if there was no tomorrow.
Talking shop became in
class a working conversation necessary for the ebb and flow of English in the English Class room and it was
held to as a
good way to help children talk out their
points of view in class and learn to listen to the points of view of their friends and classmates as they werent held /in silence/ ... it was seen to be frightfully modern and it was a brand new approach to education of the ll plus to 16 year old and it was a good step forward as it helped overcome shyness in speaking out in public given that we still do even in this day and age live in an accent conscious society here in the UK .. keep on talking but rest awhile in the warm spring air and that will restore you .. keep on working ..
