As I count up in decades these
days rather than one day at a time .... I reflect upon the success early on in life of Grace Kelly, Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra in the film
"High Society".. Its a good start for a young girl and to find oneself in a successful
career at only 17 and running an chic
apartment in the Antrim Road in 1964 was often attributed first to my Convent education and then latterly to my
taste or chosen taste
in film, music, and theatre. Religion plays its part, however while it was dominant theme
In the /Ireland/ of 1964 my friends and I tended to smother it under the distinction of
class gender race and occupation.
In fact so much so that when my friend and I
went of dining at night we usually went onto the University Dance ......... she to the May Ball with a Partner and myself to Romanoes with a group a foursome with male and female partners. We both would return to the apartment
and exchange stories about how Grace Kelly had influenced our choice of clothes accent style and not least Class. We certainly were in Class A .......... and in High Society in those happy days of 1964 ..... Wonderful memories of High Society both fictional and factual! Wow
