In the South the proverbial "plum" way of
speaking is positively entrenched and I am sure I am responsible in this connection but I take the point that for "We" English speaking natives of the
great English tradition of William Shakespeare it is a frightening prospect to chance a single syllable in speaking and learning a foreign
language can be a waking nightmare as it challenges our scheme of speaking.
Making all your silent letters "said" and your "noisy" letters silenced is a turnabout for the
book so I embarked upon writing my own Teach Me Turkish Book and its been successful until I came to the
oral test . and then it was the living nightmare again. So I managed to break through the horror or it all with
help from Dr. Mustafa Melek of Istanbul now no longer doing the same job but working still .. and got a few clips from Istanbul in Turkish of Tarkan and his magnificent songs ........ its a great help especially with long words in Turkish .. - Donulmez Aksamin Ufkundayim and I have to email the Language School in Eskisehir Mr Koksals Onder DIl Language School to gain more expertise in Turkish oral. I have improved and so I have passed my great skills onto the young man at Waterstones last week and he was very impressed. So much so that he found me yet another book to buy in Turkish Language which I now have on my bookshelf ... I use it daily and have got my book of poems up and running .. keep on at the Teach Me Turkish ... great employment!
