The issue of that pre Beatles linguistic argument where the
young lady trained to say ..
"Lets do it" ..... "Shall we dance" answered the young man! "Cant you tell .. its Saturday again!" .. seems to be reinventing itself and the
apostrophe is ever present .. rather like the comma, and I have no disagreement with either the "apostrophe" or the "comma" but the "full stop" seems to be in conflict with the Americans .. as they refer to the "full stop" as the "period" .. so you pay your money and take your choice.
When in the final analysis its all over ... and you are left wondering about in the dark about whether an
extra comma might have swung it in terms of conflict resolution .. do not worry I am here . helping you help yourself and will hand down the wisdom of the ages .. if in doubt "drop" the extra comma and "drop" the apostrophe" but do mind the Full Stops! How People Speak and How they Write!" are quite different
stories . keep on writing short stories .. great work!
