AFP blogged from Istanbul and showed us - the views of the Bosphorus ... known by some as the link between two continents ... Europe and Asia .. is discussing Archaelogical digs just overlooking the Bosphorus .. they are digging up remnants and all sorts of objects ... and evidence of sunken ships and I wonder if the Archaelogists will discover "treasure" I hope so!
The exercise is leading to the creation of a tunnel to link Europe and Asia ... and the connection has been made by AFP that is a fairly energetic sort of excavation!
Some of the history of Istanbul with specific reference to this current Archaelogical "dig" date back to the 4th century .... and they ... the Archaelogists .. have found objects from diverse areas of the world from countries such as ... Egypt, Bulgaria - Russia and Romania .... the significance of this Archaelogical "dig" has been stressed by AFP .. its a series of film shots which fascinate me as I was involved with Archaelogists from Wnchester in the 1970s ... and gave lectures on their findings and examples of the history of the world! ..
