There has been much debate on the subject of the elderly .. a caring society and mercy killing and the dreadful diseases
that they suffer seems to lead
society to the conclusion that mercy killing is the only answer. Its a "hot potato" or a difficult and vexed
question but only today I heard on BBC Radio 4 News that two elderly people had ended their own lives in Mainland Europe and they were in their 80s and 70s respectively. And those who knew these two elderly people discussed the sad passing of these illustrious contributors to society.
Even in my own location it seems that there are a lot of elderly people and they are certainly a "sad lot" and the reason the Government say is that they have not enough money to live on and suffer elderly diseases ...so there are numerous programmes started here in Britain to deal with the question of the Elderly.
But for those of us not in the category of "Elderly" its been announced that we can work post 65 and that the law is due to change next year ... fortunately I am way off 65 so perhaps when I get to that age the law will permit me to work and I can contribute as is necessary. Hard news from the BBC Team on Radio 4 .. Working for all of your life!
