Hi Everyone! MY search for a new car had ended here in Singapore. Not only have i found a great looking car but one that
is just as functionally great! Below I present an abstract that describes exactly how i felt about this car.
The
MAZDA3 that i got was the entry level Mazda3 Auto 1.6L with tiptronic function. I have longed wanted to drive a good looking car that has state of the art gadgets and comfortable yet sporty.
The mazda3 that i got is bright red in colour. Priced at $61 500 SGD, i have no complaints thus far!
TIPTRONIC FUNCTION - This is Mazda3''s name for the semi automatic option for the gear. It took me a few days to get used to driving in this mode. But I have to agree that it''s a great investment of time learning how to do it properly. Driving the car using gear 1 immediately gets it from 0-60kmh in 2 seconds!! I ZOOMED past by Corollas and Civics, who in their confusion tried to cath up with me but to no avail as a change to gear 2 brought me to 100 kmh in another 2 seconds!! I don believe it!!! And i still have 2 more gears to follow. In the Singapore street roads where speed limit is 70 kmh, i can not go further faster since the cops and camera would not be far behind since my car if u remember is bright blood red!! In the highway though, I can zoom up to 120kmh in further 2-3 seconds before landing in the final gear which can bring me to 180kmh easily in the Malaysian Highway!! People say this is not a performance car and i do agree. It''s not a sports car yet it looks and feels sporty. The 0-100kmh sprint time as told by mazda is 12.3 sec but the car feels significantly faster that that!! For those who want to feel the real attribut of power and zoom zoom in a mazda31.6L A should drive it in the manual tip tronic mode- i have to admit it uses slightly more fuel if u drive it in this mode continuously, but overall it will just increase your fuel cost by $ 5-6 more on a full tank which more than compensates for the fun and exhilaration that u get!!
BEAUTY - This is a car that i fell in love at first sight. Not many other cars can do the same to me. Another car that can roughly catch my attention is the Hyundai tuscani coupe which performs suboptimally i must admit to my Mazda3! I find that looking at the Mazda3, I can use any available adjective that means beatiful to apply to it!! Just imagine - words like great,
excellent, handsome, pretty, gorgeous, cute, sleek, slender, macho, dashing etc all can aptly describe my blood red mazda3. I instanly got commends from friends and colleagues whom i know secretly want to get behind the wheels but are too egoistic to do so since they''re driving things like civic, lancer and altis. It''s thru beauty is in the eye of the beholder AND they also say that beauty is not skin deep. How aptly that applies to my Mazda3!! Inside the car, U instantly feel that u''re inside a 3 series BMW though the leather in some area may have been replaced with high quality plastic trimmings that got put in together real well!! But does that matter?? I think it doesn''t cos when you look at the amazing dash controls and speedometer its like a work of art put together by a jeweller!!!
DRIVING IT - I have to admit that the best part of driving the MAZDA3 is the cornering. No other 1.6L saloons that i''ve tried come close. Its the feeling of confidence making a sharp turn , feeling glued to the tarmac that makes u want to show off safely! I usually do a left turn at 50-60kmh at gear 2 manual mode. No screech though from my YOKOHAMA tires.
