You cannot take
fanship too seriously and even those of us who write
poems find ourselves in the position of fanship. We are so overwhelmed by poets Paul Muldoon and Roger McGough that we cannot take our eyes off their
great works but having said that there is no sense in which we copy them.
Fanship takes one of several paths . it can be a great way of enhancing your ego and you
can sit back and enjoy the read and not bother about what you should be
doing yourself. ... or you can go to every gig they put on and never do or see anything else!
Time will pass and someone out there will ask the question about yourself and your contributions .... what have you been doing .. of course your reply will be that you have been reading the poems of Paul Muldoon and Roger McGough.
It will be back to the back of the class again unless you pull your socks up. and get on with your own stuff ... still its nice for a while to be a "Fan" ... keep on blogging.
