There was something odd about the story of John Lennon recently pushed on my desk on top of the pile for after all John Lennon
has been dead since 1980 and I suppose I did extra time in overcoming the "shortfall" in my career . i.e. I have only taught 20
years full time not 25 years full time so I have as much work in front of me as behind me. Anyhow John Lennon has a touching line shown on this newest DVD where he repeats that Lennon himself wasnt allowed to talk about the war reference here to the war in Vietnam and he supposed that it was modern times and like artists of the past he was suppressed. He quotes his Manager Mr Epstein as the man who stopped John Lennon from talking about the War in Vietnam .. its a touching line since later on Epstein died tragically at only 32. But I suppose Lennon expresses the suppression acts of that period better than most people at that
point in time would have given him credit for. The reason for the secrecy was .... I was told .. to protect life and limb and property and not give all our secrets away to our enemies. John Lennon at that point in time thought everyone was his friend and alas! that was not the case .. he was later shot by an enemy who is now free having served a huge life sentence in prison. Interesting reflections today ... keep on writing ... excellent stuff!
