Lunch .. just what the doctor ordered .. with a friend before Christmas in town ... but would we have a takeaway or tea and
sandwiches. Neither since both of us enjoy ordinary food it was off to the viewing restaurant at the top of the West Quay Centre in the John Lewis Store where one had a clear view of the ships in the quay ... cheese omelette and coffee and the same again proved very successful.
The place was buzzing with Christmas shoppers and one woman I caught sight of was wearing a red kilt and pushing her way through the thronging crowds trying to find a seat.
The time spent in queuing was typical of a day in my life and I long for the time when one can pre book a table and just sit down and wait but that''s in the past and everyone these days wants something cheap and cheerful.
The news is that the Banks are lending money to people without the consent of Citizens Advice and that''s a terrible crisis in England as the Charity workers believe that the Banks are putting too much
pressure on people to borrow money and they will end up in debt!
I assure them and you dear reader that nothing is farther from the truth .. I save up and the banks have not put any pressure at all on me or my
friend to borrow money that we cannot afford ... we stay within our means .. slim and trim ....excellent cuisine here in the UK!
