Turkish Blog from the USA is full of exciting views on Food and Wine from faraway places with strange sounding names like Istanbul .. and the writer has introduced a lady butcher who actually specializes in STEAK .. I just love steak dont you! So she is known as "Defne" and she spent sometime in New York so picked up some US skills there . . something most of us have to do in order to make the world go round.
There is a connection here too with salads being served in Istanbul and its fine restaurants especially fennel and apple sausages ....... most appetising! But it harkens back to my childhood in Ireland again where someone terribly famous used to instruct me on ... growing up .... and my favourite book was Heidi Grows Up .. followed by Heidi and her children and then of course I have children of my own ... Orhan Pamuk the Nobel Laureate for Literature recent winner who has written a new book title/A Museum of Innocence/and he is tied up with the trade and the life and times and ebb and flow of society in Istanbul .. surprisingly - didnt know Mr Pamuk took anything to do with the trade ... appeals to me especially as the Lady Butcher and her environs in Istanbul quote ... low rent!
