I know felling you want to pull your hair out when you try to play older game on your PC or Laptop
game miserly fail to load up or you got bunch of 2 bit colors on screen. Or your procesor go mad on 100% and freezes all up. Even patching dosnt help? Reinstaling game all over again even crushing windows down to run it, and sadly still nothing.
Well main problem here is compability with Graphic card and OS for games like Diablo2:LOD, Quake2, Sims....etc
1. If your Pc-s procesor go on 100% when you run game and nothing happen. Open your Task Menager
Shut down task of game, check for Rundll.exe you will notice that proces is taking like 98% of Procesor.
If you canot shut down pernematly Rundll.exe that way, use Procexp it was free when I downloaded it.
Works almost same as Task Menager do the same locate Rundll.exe right click on it and press suspend.
If problem persists every time you want to run game remember to run Procexp before runing game exe with
this problem. This can save your mother board of over heating and your sanity.
2. You run game and colors go crazy on you cant see a thing? Well this method work only to some people I still dont know why. Right click on game exe shortcut under properties click on tab Compability. There you will see
Run as Administrator enable that. Check folowing boxes: Disable desktop composition and Disable display scaling on high DPI settings. Apply and try running it now but still on some resolutions might be problems so
just change video setings till all got to normal.
