My name is Renata and I live in Croatia. Manny people
don’t know were is my
country so I will tell you something about it.
Croatia, official name Republic of Croatia,
is located in South-Central Europe. The
neighbors of Croatia are Slovenia, Hungary,
Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. The
capital town of Croatia is Zagreb.
Its terrain is diverse: mountains by Adriatic Sea with thousands of
islands and very beautiful
coastline, plains and lakes in the continental.
The Croats was first mentioned in 7th
century. On this territory lived Romans, Hungarians, and Austrians but finally
in 1918 was established kingdom
of Serbs, Croats, and
Slovenes. After World War II it was named Yugoslavia and led by very famous
Josip Broz Tito. Then Croatia was a Republic within Yugoslavia, but in 1991
Croatia declared independence and then was a war. Serbian paramilitary forces
and rebel Serbs from Croatia wanted to create "Great Serbia" from
Croatian and Bosnian and Herzegovian territory. But the war came to an end with
a Croatian victory.
Today my country is very famous
because of the coast by Adriatic Sea and it''''s often called „land of thousand
islands“, to be more precise 1185 of them. Each one is different and many of
them are inhabited. The tourist can come to Croatia and stay at the hotel or go
to the lightheartedness.
