various nesting or feeding sites of the
wild dolphins in that area. Therefore, without having to scour the
ocean they lead the tourists directly to the area of operation. Daily trips are organized from 01 Sep-31 May. There are some 175 of these bottlenose dolphins. The moment these are sighted you can jump right into the water and enjoy your swim. You can imagine your thrill and elation at being in the company of these shy and playful mammals totally wild. These are truly wild and unlike the trained ones you get to see in various amusement parks across the globe. The trip is for 2-5 hours. The master of the trip is Terry Howson who spent his entire growing period in the Indian Ocean waters of Western Australia. His life consisted of swimming, sailing and surfing. While engaged in these activities, Terry developed a deep respect for not only the ocean but all the living creatures therein. The obvious employment was in boats hired for the conduct of various fishing and similar sea expeditions. Once Terry had mastered these activities, he turned his focus on his passion, being able to
swim with dolphins in the wild. He therefore moved to Rockingham where he would swim throughout the week for more than ten
Hours daily while he learnt all about dolphins. It took him 7 months to even come close to
swimming with one. His project is now a reality. You will have the pleasure of swimming under Terry’s skilled guidance. His motto is to keep the dolphins in their natural environment and never feed them. This is the only way we can preserve the status of these mammals as being wild. One need not be an expert swimmer. Just jump in and enjoy this wonderful once in a lifetime trip.
