Let's assume, you are going to America & want to explore its major cities. You want to be the judge of your prefrences, importantly the budget & payment. This site makes it quite comfortable for you. All you need is an international credit card. When you log in, you 'find a hotel' in three steps: Enter a city, Select dates & Specify no.o f rooms and guests (adults & children). If you prefer the advanced search, you will have options of searching by city, by amenities or by address.
On the next screen, when you click 'Go', you'll see a default listing of hotels sorted by hotels.com for your selection. Apart from options for re-sorting of hotels according to price & star rating, you get options to see all hotels on a map & a dropdown of hotels near known land marks: the latter can be very useful.
What you get to see from the selection will be the daily and average tariff offered, an elaborate detail of the hotel and extensive disclosure, some actual photos, map & driving directions etc. You can review & select hotel of your choice and then click 'Book It'. Your credit card details will be collected & authorisation obtained online, after which you will be given a
reservation number that you can use subsequently, to modify & for check-in. You can print the reservgation details. I found the
transaction quite secure. I have also found the reservation well handled & hassle free.
Isn't it quite comforting that you get to see a list of all available hotels, information about each hotel you consider, spot price you are offered & a secure handling of credit card transaction and above all, complete relaxation, because you have no unexpected problems or surprises? I would certainly recommend this and encourage people to make good use of, even for the all important advantage of structuring the most optimal package by oneself!
