'Neighbour' a term, which is often used by us in good context, also become bad. A bad neighbour is certainly not the expectation
of anybody. M.J. Akbar, the noted journalist's  words in this respect carry lots of weight, I agree. He said, "If you do not see a neighbour he is not a neighbour. There are no neighbours in the huge apartment blocks of Mumbai, only adjacent numbers". Superb! These adjacent numbers are obviously sad, but that is the reality today. But, these numbers in regards to neighbours in Mumbai has nothing to do with our (India's) nest door dangerous neighbour accross the western border of India.Unfortunately, we have got Pakistan as a neighbour with whom despite keeping good relation, we cannot recognise her satisfactorily. This is irony.
A country, created with the sole idea of having an exclusive home for undivided Indian muslims, is today better known as the home for deadly terrorists. Could its creators ever guessed this paradox? This vast cultured ancient country was divided by sheer the ego, power, and greed of various parties in the year 1947, when both Pakistan and India gor free from the clutch of British. The joy of becoming free certainly lessened by the amputation of one limb. Much water have flown in river ganges after that, but the permanent scar that formed due to division is still very much fresh.
The real history of Pakistan is only of 62 years, i.e. 1947 to this day. The history, or the past prior to that period cannot be considered as Pakistan's history, because that history belongs to undivided India and is much better than the current Pakistan history. The turmoil, unrest, chaos, disorder, confusion, mayhem, commotion, etc. are assets of Pakistan. These situation has grown slowly and steadily over the years through conscienceless thoughts of its leaders all along. The present condition is a point of no return situation.
Pakistan's military has played dirty games for personal greed and ego throughout the recent history of Pakistan. The elected governments were never respected or allowed to run the country smoothly. Democracy is a meaningless word to military leaders. The one other important wing of the government is the ISI, which is more inclined towards military than its civil bosses. Hardcore criminals, terrorists, smuglers, and underworld dons got red carpet welcome to Pakistan with only one condition, that is India specific hatred. This country's dismal record of progress in every field is a serious concern for everybody except its leaders.
The one aim the country followed is 'hate India', 'harm India', 'kill Indians' at any cost. They left no stone unturned to inculcate venom in the minds of children through false propaganda. School books have been filled with wrong, lies in abundance. It is not surprising to note that children of this country easily believe that killing Indians, Specially Hindus, is a sacred piece of work. Can you believe this?
To my assessment Pakistan today is surviving on the formula of anti-India platform. Kashmir issue is just an excuse. They are angry, jealous, and envious about India's progress and development in every field, and the world wide recognition.
In spite of having diplomatic relation, frequent coming-going, cultural exchanges, the dark mind of Pakistan did not change. India is still trying through patience, and that patience in turn attracted more violence from Pakistan.
The time is more than ripe to do something drastically to make them understand their worng state of mind. Pakistan is not a neighbour at all, in any sense, of India.
