University Hospital Charité, Berlin, today announced a program of preventive therapies and free to users of sites of child
pornography, which aims to avoid passing the virtual pedophile child sexual abuse.
The offer of such therapies will be disseminated through advertisements in cinemas and television, and low commitment of confidentiality to those requesting it, who should not fear prosecution, said the director of the
Department of Sexology of the Charité, Klaus Beier.
The inclination pedophile is not curable, Beier believes, but can help the adult in general, to control for men "to act responsibly towards this sexual impulse."
Users of child
pornography pages are potential child abusers and, ultimately, rapists, which can be avoided with proper therapy.
Beier department works in that field for about four years ago and two presented a first study on how to pedophilia.
In 2005, the Charité has launched a volunteer recruitment campaign with posters and television advertisements in major German cities, to which some 1,000 people responded, of whom 400 participated anonymously in the preliminary research, and finally, 200 received therapy .
LOCK DIFFUSERS OF CHILD PORN
A week ago, the German Parliament (Bundestag) passed the law that will allow broadcasters to block websites with child pornography through foreign servers, which is under the jurisdiction of the federal department of Criminal Investigation (BKA).
The BKA estimates that 80 percent of users of such content are "occasional criminals" whose access you want to avoid a new system for alerting and blocking, while the remaining 20 per cent of users is "keen" to such content.
It is estimated that every day in Germany is accessed about 450,000 times to pages whose content includes pornography. According to the BKA, the number of pedophiles who access this content doubled between 2006 and 2007.
