In early April 2007, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) considers China is now one of the top up-takers in the technology of electronic air tickets with around 95 per cent of all flight tickets sold in China are e-tickets.
This is well above the global average of 78 per cent, and even more remarkable when compared to a 68 per cent average in the Asia-Pacific region. Asia-Pacific region is one of the poorest performers on e-ticketing, which is on the same level as Africa, according to IATA.
IATA believes that Asia-Pacific''s poor performance is largely caused by slow up-take in Japan as well as a slow start in Malaysia.
