Born in Sarrebruck, Europe, this
artist illustrator and movie maker came to live in Québec in 1948. From when he started with drawing, in his youth and all along his existence, in trecks and trips, he always brought along his sketching pad and colour crayons. His way gives us the oppurtunity to follow up on the evolution of his artistic progress along the years. His web site, - http://
www.fredericback.com/index.en.shtml - available both in Fench and English language, offers visitors a rich
presentation of the magnificent array of his work,
wich extends on more than sixty years. You can read his biography, written in a narrative way, navigate through the thematic galleries of the painter''s museum, shop in the boutique, see scenes from
television shows
ment for youngsters, in wich Mister Back has drawn illustrations; and even more. I personnaly became aware of his exceptionnal talent through the television presentation, in 1987, of his animation film,
The man who planted trees, a production based on care for environement, tenderly inspired by love of life. The softness in wich the artist traces life''s mouvement had moved me at the time. While visiting his site, I took a real pleasure by getting to know
better the man through his images. I also appreciated to better understand his vision of art and of the world. Another special section of the site annouces ineractive workshops, which should be available in september of this year. Introduced in a playfull way, they will be ment for younsters to take knoledge about the importance of the quality of environment. The simplicity with wich the artist brings us to discover his identity and the beauty of his personnal cachet in the heart of a swell presentation, makes it a must to see. it''s a wonderfull vue on nature and life.
