It looks like a Corella. Cockatoos (and Corellas) are still
parrots in most senses of the word - i.e. members of the order
Psittaciformes - just not "true
parrots". That order (Psittaciformes) consists of two families - Psittacidae (true parrots) and Cacatuidae (Cockatoos).
Little Corella ,
Cacatua sanguinea. Numerous, found across Australia. It has a loud call that goes like "Eh eh! Eh eh!" and a beautiful trilling whistle sound.
Watch a baby one grow up into a beautiful bird in 33
pictures. Damn ugly and so damn cute at the same time. It starts off a right ugly creature and then grows into a maginificent animal. I guess not every baby is cute after all though. That is absolutley amazing.
