Tips on
saving energy in your home
Saving energy not only saves you
money, it places less strain on the
environment and helps prevent
global warming. Here is couple of tips for saving energy:
1. Fill up your dishwasher and/or washing machine as much as possible. Half loads consume excessive electricity. When buying a new washing machine, rather get a front-loader model. They tend to use 25% less energy than standard models
2. Replace your single incandescent light
bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs (those squiggly ones). They save a lot of energy.
3. Check your furnace and air conditioning filters regularly. Cleaning or replacing filters on regular occasions will insure proper air flow, promote better health, increase efficiency, and save money too.
4. During spring and summer, line-dry your laundry, instead of using a dryer.
5. Don’t leave your cellphone on charge for excessive periods as it taps electricity and shortens the lifespan on its battery.
Turn this advice into everyday habits and you can also contribute to saving the planet.
