Beyond Affair is a website created by Anne Bercht after she was cheated by her husband, Brian Bercht. She was able to
recover from that treason and could even find a positive side. With that, she created the site to help other women in the same position to recover too. As she says, people are hardly neutral when it comes to
infidelity, it brings up strong emotions. Anne recently (2008) appeared in the Oprah show about Cheating Husbands, sharing her story. After that she received many comments, and says: "Some people were upset by various things or aspects of the show … but some of what is upsetting is indeed reality". Meaning, their own reality of having a cheating husband too. And it's something that cannot be erased when it happens. What remains to be done it to decide wheter this marriage is something worth saving or not (assuming it can be saved). Anne decided to not give up. She is still married to Brian, and today he even helps her with the site, book, seminars, and wherever they are invited to go and tell their story. And they seem to be very happy! I can't say I could do the same thing if I was in her shoes, but I cannot go against her judjement as well. Everyone knows what is best for her or his life. She felt that what they had was worth saying (they still had the feelings and where willing to stay together), and it seems it was since they are still together.
A nice part of her website is the "Articles" section, where you'll be able to find useful hints (even if you're not willing to forgive), like Top 10 Signs of Infidelity (http://www.beyondaffairs.com/articles/signs_of_infidelity.htm), Should I Stay Or Should I Go? (http://www.beyondaffairs.com/articles/should_I_stay_or_go.htm) and many others.
I hope you like my suggestion, and if you are in this situation, just stay calm. You existed before you met him, and I'm sure you can keep existing and being happy (even happier) if you just follow your heart and respect YOURSELF in the first place. You don't have to be in a relationship that doesn't feel right, no one has to do that (and if there is violence, that's even worse!). From that, the decision on what to do is completely up to you (is it worth trying? Or is it not?). And I wish you all good things in the world, God bless you. Big hugs! :)
