When we search the term ‘search engine optimization’ or SEO, we get millions of search results on it. Some of those sites promise to help improve the rating of our sites, a few say hundreds of methods by which we can ensure our site keep on the top. All have some tricks and strategies too. And ironically, we can see many such sites, that give this much techniques, still stay on the bottom on those results!
We all know optimization is the process of improving the traffic to a website by various methods, so that search engines can index it and rank it highly so that it be placed in the search results and is visible to all. The ultimate aim is to give the site a place in the top search results when someone search with a keyword or phrase, isn’t it?
So now let’s think if any of those sites really help? I can’t say they do not, in fact many of those sites give a lot of knowledge in optimizing our sites and if we try their techniques we may get some results too. But does that serve our purpose? I don’t think it will serve anyone’s purpose, because the purpose of any worked-hard site is that it is being viewed, cared and nurtured by a lot of people around the world not one or two times, but many many times.
So apart from the optimization gimmicks what actually is going to work? Here let me come to my point, from what I saw, the sites that give right and useful contents and keep alive with usual updatings are only going to survive or get top rankings. And most importantly popular search engines like Google and Yahoo started to rate the sites accroding to the real contents, and their crawling is capabable of identifying the search engine frauding. So make sure we go for search engine optimization with a very good website with a lot of 'things' in it, instead of a lot of key words and tricks.
