Search engine business had been experiencing a series of fierce competition right in the beginning when www.Yahoo.com
was almost dominating the
search engine industry on the Internet. However, in the recent years, search engine wars had evolved between Google and Yahoo.
There is a common trend that Google has been trying very innovative to gain foothold in a wide spectrum of Internet services like emails, homepages, the all time popular affiliate program Adsense and so many more. Well, in my personal view, Gmail, the emailing service provided by Google is the best online mail service so far.
Another notable implementation made by Google was the PageRank system. An algorithm that is able to differentiate junk sites from sites which are relevant to the searches performed. In the context of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), PR rating has already been used as an important gauge of how popular a particular site is to the Google Search Engine.
The Google search engine not only perform searches being typed into the search field, it is also possible to function as a calculator when you input the numbers with add, subtract, multiply and divide and clicked search, the result will be the answer.
It is almost like a trend to use Google services now.
