the global leader.G.E. has a global presence and one of the most profit making business organizations. However apart from actively providing services in diverse fields, it serves underprivileged in many ways. G.E.
foundation informs through its website www.ge.com/foundation about its various activities.
G.E. contributed more than $22 million in cash, products and services for victims of Hurricane Katrina .For e.g. it contributed $6million cash to American Read cross
It has helped victims of tsunami by providing housing for 120 orphans in Indonesia’s Banda aceh province.
It has supported Nurani Dunia, a non-government organization dedicated to providing aid to victims of disasters and social conflict in Indonesia.
Grant initiatives-It partners with school and organizations. For e.g. in U.S. it has supported JCPS with a four yer,$25 million grant to support college education.
-Improving educational standards-In Pune city, the g.e. foundation has collaborated with pratham Pune education foundation amongst disadvantaged children and in other poor communities
-In china, it works with the china youth development foundation to enhance skills of teachers from rural background.
-In Mexico, it collaborates with junior achievement Mexico on implementing education programmes in seven schools.
Employees programs-It encourages philanthrophy.Employees are encouraged to donate to the social cause
G.E. Star
Scholarship-G.E. gives scholarship to children of eligible employees and retiree’s worldwide. Here recipients get one time scholarship in one of two categories
These are for (a)those attending four-year college
(b) vocation/ community college

G.E. Foundation also gives grants to eligible social organizations but you have to contact it for that. It has not entertain unsolicited proposals .This website is properly designed and tries to inform about various social programs managed by G.E.Foundtion.
