The changing face of humanity

Website Review by: mprema

We all discuss on the changing face of humanity at all stages. Have we
ever thought that it is not merely the face
of humanity that changes
but the face of the human? Do we look the same as we did when we were
born? Or are we having the same face as we had when we were 2 year olds
or 10 year olds? Why does a woman or even men want to hide their
physical age? Why does everyone feel 'stressed' out these days? How was
the word 'stress' coined? Why are we always trying to compete with each
other in this 'mad mad world'? Why do we call this world 'mad' when we
all are part of this world?
The answer to all the above is just one - we identify this physical
body as 'me'. We crave for money, for position, fame, wealth and God
knows what. We never pause to think that just as fast as we attain
this, we lose it equally fast too. The wealth that we have been trying
to obtain through years of struggle will be left behind with one stroke
of nature - scientists would give it the name of 'heartstroke'.
Wordsworth in one of his poems had said, 'miles to go before I sleep'.
We all memorized this poem in order to get through the literature exam
or maybe the elocution contest. How many of us pondered over the words
- which are the miles mentioned here and what is sleep? We keep
rotating in the cycle of births and deaths without getting any respite.
We keep repeating mistakes birth after birth; we remain entangled in
the world of materialism life after life. We never reach the
destination and hence never get to sleep. We do not have time ro
reflect upon our thoughts, words and deeds because we are always in
action.
Is this the life that we really want? How many of us can claim to be
happy? We seek pleasure and not happiness. Pleasure is momentary, maybe
for a few hours or may be days; happiness is permanent. This physical
body is temporary for one life; the soul is your own, the self is for
ever and ever. This 'self' or the soul that is you is a part of the God
Almighty, is divine but we never strive to see the divinity. We are
busy seeking temporary pleasures which the body and mind can provide.
If you desire to attain peace of mind, if you wish to rectify the past
deeds, if you wish to better your life, if you wish to see the divinity
within you, if you wish to release the pent up emotions, if you wish to
retain the original 'you', if you wish to evoke the knowledge from
within you, have a look at this website: www.spiritualgrowth.org.in
This is what has changed my life to a very great extent; this is where
I derive inspiration from; this is what is needed by common people
today. Please remember humanity is above religion; humanity has no
face. It is each one of us that make the 'humanity'. Let us all strive
to bring small changes into our's and lives of others around us and
make this 'mad' world a better place to live in.
