Irfan View is a freeware program (thus free) that is
extremely simple to use and very complete.Originally, it
was just an image viewer. But, as it
developed, it became much more than that! Now, thanks to plug-ins, it can read
almost all types of commonly used file. In addition to about ten types of image
files, Irfan View can also read files containing text, sound, icons, video, etc.!But, of course, it is more effective when it comes to
images. It enables: more or less complex
word processing, ranging from re-dimensioning to changing formats as well as
animated gif extraction, color reduction
or increase, color change, switching to negative, basic effects application, loading images from video capture
accessories(scanner for example),
possibility of batch processing. Not bad for a simple viewer!By the way, let us take a look at its viewing functions.
Before, I spoke of it being simple to use, but what does this really mean?
Well, you already have the possibility of launching a slideshow by selecting
the images you would like to see, the speed of transition in between images, display
parameters, etc.Then, while “manually” viewing, the keys are really
trouble-free: left and right make you rewind or forward an image (can also be
done with the space bar and ‘Backspace’); R (Right) makes the image rotate 90°
to the right and L (Left), 90° to the left.It is also possible to view in
full screen mode with ‘Enter’ and come back to normal view in the same way. And
then, you can quit the program quickly using the ‘Esc’ key. Intuitive and simple: ideal. Besides,
it uses very little memory which makes opening and closing the application
extremely quick.In addition, the program is
multilingual and so, it exists
in French and we get a software almost obligatory for simple handling of
images. Sure, it cannot rival the heavyweights
image editing like Paint Shop Pro or
Photoshop as it is not its goal.An excellent
