MS Gill snubs coach during photo session with Sushil Kumar
The sorry state of affair for the sports minister MS Gill, who could  not recognize the guru (Coach) of Sushil Kumar, the medal winner in the World Wrestling Championship held in Moscow, could be avoided by Gill himself if he did behaved in normal way without thinking his minister’s chair. First he, in spite of his calling of the Sushil’s coach to stand beside Sushil and Satpal came forward, discarded his own thinking, and then when he was made aware that that Satpal is sushil’s coach, he had refused to make any comment on that. It is normal and natural for anybody to forget some faces due to everyday other activities, but what is not normal is Gill’s preset mind that looked for someone who fits his thinking.
Sushil Kumar came back to his motherland after winning the prestigious medal amidst cheer and rousing welcome at the airport. Then he was taken to the Minister’s residence, where during the photo shoot this unfortunate incident happened. Gill tried to be over smart that rightly created the problem for him. Why he did not apologize to Satpal afterwards is beyond our apprehension. Satpal Singh is the 1982 Asiad Gold Medal winner in wrestling as well as the Dronacharya Award winner that he was bestowed by the Government of India just last year.
Probably the common sense did not prevail in the Sports Minister; he was thinking him above all present in the felicitation function in his residence that could be the reason for his misbehavior with Satpal, who is the architect of Sushil’s success. He deserves more than Syshil, am I wrong? Naturally this humiliation to Satpal had hurt Sushil immensely that he expressed in front of the media. Satpal showed his restraint and played down the incident without any adverse reaction. For more than a decade Sushil is trained by Satpal, which culminated in his success now. Gill, when asked about the incident, said, “I don’t have to say anything on it”. This shows he does not accept his mistake.
The sports minister announced a monetary award for Sushil, which is rupees one million for making the nation proud.
