Security is the name of the game and the argument about
tickets has continued
throughout the decades on whether or not the teacher should buy the
ticket and
be reimbursed by the
employer or whether the employer should sit on the phone in Istanbul and phone Turkish Airlines in London confirming that the ticket is being processed and that all is in order ... the employer has paid for it and the teacher will then check in with the ticket system as is and as was in London Heathrow Airport without further delay or difficulty.
The other
possibility is when one is overseas and returning to London one should be allowed the option to transferring to British Airways should the foreign airline not have the existing
seat at the
existing price rather than run up credit card debt ... the issue of tickets
is an
important one and I have had talk with an Australian journalist who had to sit in London Heathrow at the desk for 48 hours in order to get his ticket to go back to Australia. His comment was that he was getting scruffy and in need of a shower .... he had been waiting for 2 days for
Security clearance and the ticket! Excellent stuff . keep on reading the blogs ...
