Quite right I can hear the pundit say ... to go to the University and do all the research there. Dont slack off and forget that the main stay of your research will revolve around the
academic elite the Professor in the Chair or the winning writer from the University.
Years ago nobody bothered too much about dusty libraries at Universities either
here in the UK or Europe or indeed in the USA. Life was there to be lived,
enjoyed and total participation in one''s career was the name of the game.
Today the whole emphasis in society is on The University and research institution.
The other evening I attended an authors event/Crime Writing and one of the authors mentioned that he hated researching his book .. in reply to a member of the audience. Somehow he felt that all that he needed was in front of him ... his experience, the media the internet and websites and that with travel being an important facet .... that is what it is all about!
Yet I have walked dozens of hours in the day ... week by week ... month by month .. up to the University and research institution ........ and my hard labour paid up ..... I got a book signing without any dreadful mistakes .......... research institution and The University are worthy of mention in this connection ... it pays to research .. keep on blogging and reading ..
