The other day I was in discussion about
private education and how during the 1980s over twenty years ago and "Then" Government
in the UK and Northern Ireland introduced
private education. Apparently this private scheme spread across the country and the transport was also privatized, thus the complaints even today about the cost ot it. Afterall if we had paid for education why should we have to pay again.
Private Universities probably were much in my mind in America and I heard about a lot of US schemes and how the students there in America attended full time courses at US Private Universities but they tended to /pay their way/with employment say at their local MacDonalds Restaurant ....... a scheme which didnt work here in the UK because the educational
system is quite different from the US Education System. When a student embarks upon a course he or she has to employ all their time in obtaining the grades needed for examination success and also for employment.
When I lived in America down the road from my house was Stanford University which at that point in time/1974 ... was highly regarded as it was a Private University. I used to walk in and around Stanford University to have a look at its environs ... highly recommended! Great stuff ..
