Americans are weird. In this article, NY Times columnist Thomas L Friedman criticizes the (short) political vision of confused Americans who think global aquescimento is a mistake only because it snowed a lot in Washington this winter (Washington is having a particularly snowy winter). But what strikes me is not political confusion about the weather, but their vision restricted to U.S. territory as snow fell heavily throughout the northern hemisphere, the United States to Japan, as it was snowing for decades. Still believe, is the journalist, are the politicians that the world consists of Washington.
Then he cites some of physical considerations Joseph Romm alluding to Iran, Russia, Venezuela and the whole "gang" of OPEC or OPEC - Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries - would be a kind of conspiracy to "confuse" the Americans, to think that the global aquescimento not exist for them to buy more and more and more oil from them.
I think they're seeing a lot of movies ... Americans!

Os americanos são esquisitos. Neste artigo, o colunista do NYTimes Thomas L Friedman critíca a (curta) visão confusa dos políticos americanos que acham que o aquescimento global é um erro só porque nevou bastante em Washington, neste inverno (Washington is having a particularly snowy winter). Mas o que me chama a atenção não é a confusão política sobre o clima e sim suas visões restritas ao território americano, já que nevou pesadamente em todo o hemisfério norte, dos EUA até o Japão, como não nevava há décadas. Ainda acreditam, seja o jornalista, sejam os políticos que o mundo se reduz a Washington.
Depois ele cita algumas considerações do físico Joseph Romm aludindo que Irã, Rússia, Venezuela e toda a “gangue” da OPEC ou OPEP – Organização dos Países Exportadores de Petróleo – estariam numa espécie de conspiração para “confundir” os americanos, para que pensem que o aquescimento global não existe, para que comprem cada vez e sempre mais petróleo deles.
Acho que estão vendo muito filmes… americanos!
