Cedarville University

Website Review   by:Melik

Cedarville University is a private, Christian, liberal arts university in southwestern Ohio.  The website for this university is a nicely laid out website that is easy to use and easy to find things that you need regarding the university. On the top of the main page are nice pictures that change each time you load the site.  To the left is a toolbar with various options including academics, departments, employment, and even a website search option.  On the main of the page are options for admissions, services and ministries, and alumni and friends.  Below these options are upcoming events, spotlight, and Cedarville University news.  Each of these headers has various related links to click on below them, taking the users exactly where he or she wants to go. The link for prospective students under the admissions header is helpful for students attempting to pick a university.  I know for several of my friends that weren't able to come visit the campus, the website was a big selling point in both its design and ease of use.  There is info on this page about SAT and ACT's, very helpful for a clueless high school student.
There are also options to read the president of the university's blog, take a virtual campus tour, apply, and view scholarship information.  One of the nicest features for prospective students on this site, is the fact that the catalog can be viewed online, making looking up classes and programs much easier than on most university websites.  On some sites, it is almost impossible to find out what classes are offered, or what is available for a certain major, but on Cedarville's website, it is all clearly laid out in the online catalog.  On the site, there is also sports information, an option to search for a person, a page specifically for students and another for faculty, and many other great features.  There isn't much about the university that you cannot find out from the website.
