I touched the link ... Independent Columnists and got a lot of information on a recent article which obviously has caught the attention of Mr McGrane.
The article deals with referencing poets and poetry .. and its like a class list of say, the guys in your group who graduated attended graduation went to the After Party and kept in touch for 3 decades only to bid a fond and final farewell by returning all letters to source .......... pass it onto to the groups of graduates of future generations as we dig deep into our pockets to take on board new and exciting excursions across the world of poetry.
Anyway .. to press ahead .. the writer references - Roger McGough, Adrian Henri, Brian Patten - Penguin Collection - Liverpool Merseyside poets and great favourites nationwide ...... Allan Ginsberg and the Czechs - Celtic Tribes employed to write verses and what a welcome note on Friday rather than /unemployed/
There is a comment directed back at the reader about a woman who made the point that we could do with a poem on public events that is powerful and would feature on the frontpage of a newspaper ... I and my co writer did precisely that in the late 1980s ... feature on the frontpage of a newspaper ....on world events .. but then that was years back!

I thought that too, until recently, my poetry got me all the way across the world ....in terms of "happenings" ........
