www.theonion.com

Website Review by: WW

I finally bought into www. theonion.com. I held off quite a bit due to a preconceived notion I held about it's content. However,
after seeing a few of the headlines, I became entranced. Here’s what I discovered from a recent viewing of the web site and one of The Onion’s books, “Dispatches From the Tenth Circle.” Dispatches took place at the end years of the Clinton presidency and doesn’t shy away from poking fun at the embattled president at many a moment. However, most of the humor is apolitical, and is quite satirical. Here is what I found through my “research.”
1) www. theonion.com is really funny
2) The Onion is also very time consuming. To read a whole paper you’ll need at least twenty minutes
3) The headlines are killer. In fact, most of the time, they exceed the quality of the article. For example, Water Pistol Fired Using Sideways Gangsta Grip.
4) Don’t spend money on the books. The only reason to buy one is for a good coffee table book. 176 pages of articles gets considerably repetitive quite fast.
5) Don’t get offended so quickly. It’s just a joke, ok? Headlines like “Why do all these Homosexuals keep sucking my cock?” is clearly tongue in cheek.
The Onion's website claims that over 3 million people read the weekly newspaper online. The Onion, which has been around for fifteen years now, has won over ten Webby awards and there is little sign of it slowing down. In fact, in recent years, the online journal was even developed into a movie.
Check it out for yourself at www.theonion.com. It’s worth the time you’ll spend reading it.
