The Earth is headed toward unprecedent realities. We are getting warmer and at a fast rate.
High possibilities that many species will eventually become extinct.
UN.N officials have called upon the the two polluters to try and come to a solution. The
countries are The U.S and China.
As early as 2020,that is only 13 years from now, many African
nations will
experience severe water shortages,cities in Asia will
suffer thru floods and coastal flooding.
More and more
cities in North America will experience longer and hotter heat waves.
Research has shown that the poor and elderly will have the most problems.Hunger and disease will proliferate.
The U.N says a plan must be put together by 2009 so there will be a
smooth transition to suceed the Kyoto Protocol which will expire in
2012.The Protocol requires 36 countries to radically reduce carbon
emissions.
The carbon
emissions must stabilize by 2015 or the results will be disastrous.
Best case for now is that if every factory were to shit down and all cars taken off the road
sea levels would still rise by 4 1/2 feet.
According to Sharon Hays ,a White House science official and head of
the U.S. delegation, said the
certainty of climate change was clearer
now than when Bush rejected Kyoto.
As Ms. Hays states there is absolute documentation that
global warming is happening,that is a certainty .
Unless steps are taken now, the world would experience irreversible changes taht would make the planet un-recognizable.
