The minister of the Interior of Italy, Giuliano Amato, wants to order fines in writing for the house of customers of prostitutes, and impediz them of circulating in streets next the churches or with great frequency to minors.
The proposal to order fines for the house of the customers to place them in an embarrassing situation widely was criticized. “Amato seems to ignore the impact that a measure as this would have in the families”, said Alessandra Mussolini, right parliamentarian and granddaughter of the dictator Benito Mussolini.
In Italy, as well as in many countries, the customers of the industry of prostitution are not punished. In the practical one, the Italian law makes seen for the activity, punishing only the “explorers of the activity thick”, that is, the cafetões.
The recommendations of Amato are part of a campaign of the government to take off the prostitutes of the streets.
