English for Academic Purposes at Southampton University sometime ago invited me
as a guest to their Centre of Excellence in the field of EAP the abbreviation used
in this connection.
I was introduced to the Lady In White as the Man in Beige had gone to China and we chatted about the use of EAP to students whose first language is not English. I still maintain
even to this day that story telling in English for any age and any level of education is the
way forward and I can see its application to EAP as a positive step in the right
direction.
However, I have a vested interest here and I am a short story writer published in
