The British Council has been blogged very interesting comments from their contributors and Chris Lima is the Moderator and an excellent woman in the job without a doubt. Today, however the emphasis seems to be on charity work as usually its primary concern is with Literature and Poems and Poetry some work contributed by the writers and others marking out the famous names in poetry in English such as Wordsworth and other illustrious fellows of the art of poetry writing.
So I was surprised when the British Council threw out a general invitation for all of us i.e.. the contributors to write a few words a poem or two on the recent disaster ... the Earthquake in Haiti .. so as a good contributor I complied and sent off my Haiti Poem. It reminds me of many years ago when I was working in Eskisehir in Turkey in 1999 during the big Turkish Earthquake .. during the time when the quake hit us I was scribbing in my Teachers Book but it wasnt until my return home that I got time to write it up and send it off to my UK Publishers www.forwardpress.co.uk poem is Turkish Earthquake and its published in an anthology titled: Magical Moments and a copy of this book is available in the British Library in London .. great work ... thanks British Council Literature Department for giving it an airing!
