Reddit is one of those sites which doesn't know exactly what it is supposed to be so becomes the usual psycho-drama for the usual gang of cyberpsychos.
Apparently it was supposed to be one of those 'online communities' where people shared information, voting on the value of it. When one got 4 down votes, the item was removed.
This of course allows cyberpsychos to exercise power by down voting.
Recently, Reddit took credit for the October 30 rally in Washington D.C. The actual organisers stated that they had already paid a deposit on using the Mall before the Reddit community began promoting it.
Many people use Reddit to advertise their writing, photographs, etc. This would be useful if Reddit didn't have so many obstacles.
Besides the likelihood of having work trashed by cyberpsychos there is the limit on how often one can post, ('you are trying to share too fast, wait ten minutes') and the various moderators taking a dislike to a poster and bouncing the article.
It is not as popular as Digg or Stumbleupon, and where there are other sites, such as Bebo which do not have these obstacles, it loses its primacy.
Digg, without limitations, remains the market leader.
