What User say about Hotwire?
By Linda
“I’ve always had good luck with Hotwire. Do your homework,
read the better bidding website. Every time they’ve been accurate. By using the
list of hotels you’ll possibly be staying, check their websites for prices,
amenities, location etc… Read reviews about the those hotels elsewhere. You can
check proximity to your destination via google maps or somewhere similar.
As far as the “extra fees” – it’s there when you book the
hotel and are given your final price. Heck it’s there when you consider booking
it – so I’m suspicious of anyone stating it’s a surprise. Also, that fee has
nothing to do with Hotwire, and amounts vary according to location from what I
understand. I can’t see anyone NOT seeing that before they hit that “book it”
(or whatever) button.
I’ve never been disappointed, but as I said, I did my
homework, and didn’t rely on just Hotwire’s own star rating – which, if you
read in their explanation, is not determined by your mom’s AAA book.
It’s just like anything in life, read the fine print. Be
flexible, and know you’ll probably not be getting 100% of what you’d book
outright. That’s how you get the better prices, or in least my experience, it’s
how it’s worked.”
