It started with the Tories and the Whigs. For the longest time in our infantile independence, one was a member of either one or the other
party. The Whigs somehow seem to take control of everything,. At least they thought so. On the the other hand, Tories represented the people. Thusly we started our system off with only two
parties. Now today that seems to be the way things are. Why?
What is really so wrong with a person believing in the tenets of both parties and some of his or her own. This is what Independents do. One must either be democrat or
republican to be listened to.
Voters going to the polls at primary time are asked which party they belong to?
During
presidential elections members of the green party, liberterian party, and others are blamed when a democrat or republican loses. Face it. The person lost because he or she did not get enough votes.Members of other parties had nothing to do with it.
Our system has become so status quo democrats and republicans too are paranoid of anyone claiming loyalty to any any other political factions. Those
running under monkiers other than major labels are subject to emilination from some state ballots. This actually occured during the 2004 presidential election. Claims were made insufficient signatures were received. The real problem was party paranoia.
Only when people of this country are able to hear from all
candidates of all parties will all the justice be done. Solely in the hands of all voters are the future of those running for office in affiliations other the top two.By demanding that those in charge not ignore or sideline real candidates with real credentials will the system be closer to what it was meant to be. Ours is a gorvernemnt of the people and for the people. Let''s take it back.
