partnership mainly covers three areas:①Politically,there is a “Declaration of IndoRussian Strategic Partnership” between the two
countries where Russia firmly support India for being a permanent member of the UN Security Council.②Militarily,the two countries have reached 4 agreements including Indian purchase of Russia's weaponaries,such as aircraft carrier(a gift from Russia),100 T90 tanks and 140 Su30 MK fighters.③Technologically,Russia will help India to build a nuclearpowered electric station with two lightwater reactors.The article observes that,while not aiming at the third party and not forming any alliance,the new “Declaration”is clearly different from the 1971“Treaty of Peace,Friendship and Cooperation between India and the Soviet Union.”
