To study
antibiotic activities of food grade chitosan , water-
soluble chitosan. N-acetylamino glucose,amino glucose sulfate
potassium chloride complex . To observe the
antibiotic activities of food grade chitosan , water-soluble chitosan, N-acetylamino
glucose, amino glucose sulfate potassium chloride complex against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Candida albicans and Cryptococcis neoformans, with the disk agar diffusion method. According to the result, the minimal inhibitory concentration(MIC) of the chitosan against the bacteria ang fungi was tested. N-acetylamino glucose, amino glucose sulfate potassium chloride complex have no antibiotic effect, food grade chitosan, water-soluble chitosan have antibiotic effect. The MIC of food grade chitosan was 2.5% as E. coli,1.25% as S. aureus, C. albicans, C. neoformans. The MIC of water-soluble chitosan was 1.25% as E. coli, 0.625% as S. aureus,C. albicans, C. neoformans. The hexosamine and it'ramification have no antibiotic effect and the chitosan has antibiotic effect.The antibiotic activity of low molecular chitosan is better than that of high molecular chitosan.
