Objective To investigate the effect of
Zhichuantie(治喘贴) on eosinophils(EOS) and
interleukin-5(IL-5) of asthma in experimental
animals (guinea pigs) after being infected with ovalbumin. MethodsExperiment animals were randomly divided into four groups,control group,asthma group,Daiwenjiugao(代温灸膏) treatment group and
Zhichuantie treatment group. After 18 days of treatment,the bronchus alveoli lavage fluid(BALF) and heart blood of guinea pigs were collected. Then we assayed the apoptosis of EOS in blood,the quantity of EOS and the level of IL-5 in BALF through the flow cytometry(FCM),terminal deoxynuclectidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nickend-labeling(TUNEL) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELASA). Results The content of EOS,IL-5 in blood and BALF of the asthma group were higher than that in control group (all P<0.01). Zhichuantie group was lower than any of groups except control one(all P<0.01). Conclusion Zhichuantie has an apoptosis effect on EOS and it can reduce the level of EOS,IL-5. It can improve airway allergy inflammation of asthma induced by ovalbumin.
