The American scholars have raised various views concerning the enhancement of the U. S. - Japan Ally since the 90's of 20th
century, such as, " to maintain the current situation of the Ally" , " to adapt the Ally to Japan's Taking off " , " gradualism" " mature partners" , etc. , in which the greatest influential view to the new American government is the Armitage - Nye Report Report. The Report calls for the improvement of the bilateral security relation of the U. S. and Japan according to the model of the special relationship between the U. S. and UK ,sets six fields which need major adjusting to create the mature partner relation and lasting cooperation relation between the U. S. and Japan. The major school on the issue have a common point of view and a common goal, that is, to support the U. S. government to maintain and enhance the relation,between the two countries. They all hold the view that the U. S. - Japan ally is very important to the long time peace and stability in the Asian - pacific region, especially to the security interest of the two countries.
