It is important to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the attack of Moncarda barracks. Though the attack did not succeed,
it created a fire that spread to the whole country. Field Castro founded the Movimiento 26 de Julio in 1955 and overthrew the Batista regime in 1959. In 1961 Cuba became a
socialist country. Since then, under the leadership of Fidel Castro, the Cuban people overcame many hardships and made victories in socialist construction. Therefore, July 26 of 1953 could be seen as the starting point of Cuban revolution The attack of Moncarda Barracks also represents the
national spirit of the Cuban people, namely, no surrender to foreign powers and hegemony. Cuba is only a small nation, but it struggles to survive and has never given up its hope to govern their own fate and chose their own path of development. Fifty years has passed and the spirit of national strength still lives on. It is our belief that this spirit will encourage the Cuban people to move forward on the socialist path from victory to victory.
