Possibilities
exist with the
political modernization for the
revival of Islam. 1. Certain reasonable ingredients in Islam provide some kind of possibilities for the modernization of politics. 2. The efforts that harmonize tool sensibility and value sensibility have become the generating point and breakthrough point for the Islamic political mode. 3. The mainstream reformism of the revival of Islam has made it to be the main force for the modernization of politics. However, two types of hurdles that are difficult to overcome still exist along such modernization process in the Islamic revival campaign. Firstly, the political and economic motivation to promote the modernization of
politics is rather weak; and, secondly, the
legality of the Islamic rejuvenation has been constructed on the conventional religious basis; there is great difference with the legality of modern politics. This determines the long and winding road for the modernization of politics brought forth by the Islamic revival campaign.
